How does guided implant surgery work?

After a detailed diagnosis from three-dimensional CT data, a simulated procedure on the computer sets the position for the implant, a patient-specific surgical guide is made, and the implant is placed at the planned position.

How does the flapless method differ from a conventional incision?

With a conventional incision there is considerable bleeding, swelling can be considerable in some cases, and there is a higher chance of inflammation at the suture site. With the flapless method there is little to no bleeding, swelling or inflammation. Whether it can be used is decided after examination.

How long does the surgery take?

Each treatment session runs about 60 minutes and is done under local anesthesia.

Three-dimensional CT data lets us assess the bone, gums and nerves together in a detailed diagnosis.
Step 2 Planning

The surgical plan is drawn up on a computer.

A simulated procedure on the computer sets the position for the implant, and a patient-specific surgical guide is made so that the surgery follows that plan.
Step 3 Surgery

The guide is fitted and the surgery is carried out.

The guide that has been made is fitted in the mouth before surgery, and the implant is placed accurately at the planned position.
