Bleeding
Bite gently on the gauze for at least 2 hours, and swallow saliva and blood
rather than spitting them out. -
Prescribed medication
Take the medication you are prescribed to ease pain and prevent inflammation.

Swelling
Apply a cold compress at 5-minute intervals for the first day after surgery.

Exercise and rest
For 2 to 3 days after surgery, avoid strenuous exercise, hot baths and saunas,
and get some rest. -
Eating
Stay on soft or liquid food for the first week after surgery.
Do not use a straw, and it is better to avoid chewy or hard food. -
Brushing
Rinse the surgical site with antiseptic mouth rinse every 3 to 4 hours,
and brush the other teeth from the day after surgery. -
Alcohol and smoking
Avoid alcohol and smoking entirely for at least one month.
